Dr. Kieva moved to Scottsdale, AZ from New York, NY for the purpose of developing clinical, training, and research programs at SCI. Dr. Kieva recognized a need for this particular type of program in the valley and decided to dedicate her time and effort towards creating a program that would meet needs not currently being met for Arizona families.
She has spent numerous years studying the CABAS® model (Comprehensive Application of Behavior Analysis to Schooling), and specializes in preschool and elementary level inclusive educational settings. Dr. Kieva has seven years of experience as a front-line staff working directly with children both with and without disabilities. Five of those years were spent working as an inclusion teacher with students ranging from preschool to third grade.
Dr. Kieva specializes in kindergarten readiness and her research focuses on how teaching procedures can be effectively modified to cater toward a child’s existing skills to prepare them for general education settings. She is also interested in the ways in which effective teaching procedures can accelerate student learning. Dr. Kieva loves working with children, as well as with their parents and families to ensure that the students are receiving the best education possible.
When Dr. Kieva is not working with her students and their families, she loves spending time with her husband and their puppy, her friends and family, traveling, reading, and playing the violin.
