Experienced psychologist and behavior analyst Jacob Boney, PsyD, BCBA-D, founded Scottsdale Children’s Institute with the goal of making behavior analysis available and beneficial for every person, parent, and professional who interacts with their environment. Dr. Jacob provides comprehensive behavioral assessment, treatment, and consultation services to people of all ages living in and around Scottsdale, Arizona.

With experience in academic, private, intensive outpatient, and community mental health settings, Dr. Jacob has worked with children, adolescents, and adults across all backgrounds. After earning his Bachelor of Science in psychology at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, Dr. Jacob went on to complete his master’s and doctoral degrees in clinical psychology at the Arizona School of Professional Psychology in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Jacob is board-certified in applied behavior analysis (ABA) through the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, Florida, and is currently licensed as a behavior analyst in Arizona. He specializes in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of pediatric and developmental disorders.

Dr. Jacob conducts functional behavior assessments and uses the findings to develop individualized behavior interventions. He also provides behavioral consultations to parents, professionals, educators, and direct-care staff in individual and group settings.
